School Life

“Amare et Servire," is a beautiful expression of the Christian way of life.

Pope Benedict XVI

The Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School is highly acclaimed for its outstanding academic results. In addition, we encourage pupils to develop their own interests and achieve far more than just examination success.

The many opportunities to excel, both within and beyond the classroom, provide an environment in which every individual can develop his talents to the full. Our last OFSTED report concluded that:

Teachers plan effectively for different levels of ability in their classes. The setting and marking of work is regular and tells pupils how well they are doing and how they can improve. Homework is issued regularly and the results are used extremely well to ensure that targets set for pupils are accurate. The level of monitoring of pupils' work is exceptional.

The School regards the regular performance of homework as being of the first importance and pupils adhere to a daily homework schedule.
