CVMS Sporting Success


It's been a fantastic start to the year for CVMS sport stars, with our pupils achieving astonishing individual success at every level. Here's just a few of the many achievements we can all be incredibly proud of:

  • Fourth Form track and field athlete Dominic Ogbechie featured in Athletics Weekly ‘State of the Nation’ analysis of men’s athletics for 2017, in which he was named as ‘the best young prospect’ in British Men’s Jumping
  • Kajetan McDonnell awarded Silver at the British Fencing 2017 Challenge Wratislavia in March, competing in a field of 137 international fencers from as far afield as Hong Kong, India, Russia, Hungry and the USA
  • Fourth Former Benjamin Starkey has returned from his first winter training with the Team GB Snowboard team, after winning the semi-final in the final race of the season out in Laax, Switzerland
  • Fifth Former Sam Davies selected for the U-16 England Rugby squad playing Wales on Sunday 30 April, making him the first pupil in the history of the Vaughan to represent England Rugby at international level
  • Fourth Form baseball player Jaime Gustafson represented his club the London Mets in fixtures across Europe, while preparing for to play for Team GB in New Jersey, USA in July
  • Laurence Joss, Lower Sixth, represented Great Britain at the Munich Junior Regatta in May, winning two medals for British Rowing
